Beaches, Dinners and Y2K Slumber Parties

I started the day baking some cookies in preparation for a little Christmas get together I had the next day. Thanks to catching up with my good friend Liz on a video call, the first batch was naturally burnt (the rest turned out fine thankfully).

This was followed by a very short stint at Glenelg beach where I took a bunch of photos of birds (you can see them here!) while waiting for dinner with the fam. We had a nice little birthday dinner for my aunt, after which we froze our butts off at the freezing dock. To top off the evening, both my slippers broke and I had to shuffle back to my apartment with my flip flops flopping the wrong way.

Out came the royal icing as I spent the morning trying to make my not burnt cookies look a little more festive.

Then came the night of the Y2K Christmas shindig at the studio with my dance crew. There was a shimmery photo booth set up, an array of different treats and goodies on display and Rihanna's Fenty x Savage shows entertaining us for the night (the collective hum when Simu Liu came on screen was... very memorable). Verity debut her dance music video to "Rich Bitch Juice" by Amanda Reifer and it was absolutely banging. Everyone involved in making it is so so talented it blows my mind that I'm even involved in this community. I had the best time and it was a great way to end this year's dance chapter.
